Save the St. Mary’s Pipe Organ!
The mighty Reuters organ of St. Mary’s will sing again...
...with your help.
For a hundred years the Reuters pipe organ at the Church of St. Mary has accompanied
divine worship in Lowertown St. Paul. For almost four decades, the Century Pipe Organ Co. of Minneapolis has lovingly serviced this fine instrument, and for the last fifteen to twenty years this servicing has amounted to a kind of “duck tape, chewing gum, and a prayer” style of keeping the instrument making sound while avoiding the increasingly necessary overhauling and the expense such an overhaul entails.
But Century Pipe Organ Co. is on the case!
It is estimated that the overhaul will run between $30k–$50k. In order to facilitate the generosity of those moved to contribute to the renovation of the St. Mary’s organ, and, more generally, for the support of the sacred music program at St. Mary’s Lowertown, we’ve set up a new Restricted Fund. One can donate to the Sacred Music Fund via check (write “Music Fund” in the memo line) or by electronic funds transfer via WeShare.
Prayerfully discern what the Lord would have you to donate, but, as always, we remind you two things: 1) give sacrificially, and 2) no gift is too small to matter.
